Area ratings are checked against floor plus walls for robots that climb walls, and against the floor alone for floor-only robots. A pool right at the rating is a fit on paper; a margin leaves room for steps and corners.

The default booster draw is the Polaris PB4-60's full-load figure from its manual: 12.8 A at 115 V, about 1,470 W. A motor usually draws less than its service-factor amps, so the label or a clamp meter gives a truer number. The default robot figure is the 180 W rating of Maytronics' Dolphin power supply; the robot draws up to that, not always all of it.
The filter pump is left out. It runs with either cleaner, though a suction cleaner needs it at a speed high enough to move the cleaner for as long as the cleaner runs.
